what we’re eating
Well, we’re in SoCal right now and tomorrow is Thanksgiving so we will be having our typical Thanksgiving spread! Here’s a post I did with what our table usually looks like so you know what we’ll probably be eating 😉 Even though we’re not at home, we volunteered to do the cooking so our food will be the same as what we’d have if we were not traveling.
what i’m reminiscing about
I try really hard not to compare Daisy to Spartan but … she honestly reminds me so much of him. I’m reminiscing on Spartan a LOT these days.
what i’m loving
Several things, the first being these Christmas tree farm inspired press-ons 😂
And also, I’ve been loving how much D loves soccer! It’s been rainy/muggy/icky a few times in his recent practices and I’ve seen other kids on his team complain or even straight up throw tantrums that they’re wet and want to go home (I feel like A would be this kid LOL). D, though? HE LOVES IT. He loves playing rain or shine. He begged me to sign him up for winter clinics and asked if he can do club soccer again next year. DONE and DONE little man!
what we’ve been up to
Well. As you can probably imagine, we have our hands VERY full with Daisy these days. We’re working on *all the things* with her – crate training, potty training, obedience training. Just, ALL THE THINGS (I’m very tired, please send coffee). At least she’s cute!
what i’m dreading
You are seeing this post the day before Thanksgiving when we are already in SoCal but I am actually writing it before we leave for SoCal and I am DREADING THE TRIP. Honestly, if it weren’t for the fact that we have a brand new niece down there that we want to meet, I think we wouldn’t be making the drive. But alas. We are. With not only our three kids but also our two dogs, one of whom is a brand new puppy. I have anxiety just writing that out.
what i’m working on
Getting my Christmas card photos out!!! Normally by this time of the year, I’d not only have the cards already, they’d already be stuffed, addressed, stamped and ready to go. I secretly (or not so secretly) pride myself on getting cards into people’s homes by December 1. This year, though, we got rained out on our original family photos day – it was scheduled during a weekend in October when California saw record rains actually; so we had to reschedule our pictures to this past weekend which meant the cards haven’t been ordered … everything is delayed 🙃 It’s fine. I’m fine.
(Oooo and as I was writing this post, I got these two sneak peek photos sent to us from our photographer! EEEEP!)
what i’m excited about
Pen & Page Gals is hosting a giveaway on our Instagram right now! The winner will get some really cool swag and a gift card … you really should join our book club if you like to read! Season 3 of our podcast just started and it’s amazing to see how far our little passion project has come.
what i’m watching/reading
As always, I will have a full recap of what I read this month on the blog next week but if you’d like a sneak peak glimpse at what I’ve read so far this month…
Oh! And the December book club pick for PPG Book Club is One Day in December by Josie Silver so read along with us next month!
And as for what I’m WATCHING …
Still finishing up Season 2 of Ted Lasso.. and I’m also still DEEP in the process of watching every single Hallmark Christmas movie that they are releasing this year. I embarked on this endeavor on a whim and I refuse to give up until I have succeeded so … that’s keeping me pretty busy these days 😂
what i’m listening to
Christmas music is a given. But other than that, I am also really enjoying Red (Taylor’s version) that was just released. I was a BIG Taylor Swift fan in her early days… Red was the last album that I really, really, loved. Her next album, 1989, was good but not my favorite and I stopped listening to her after that album because I don’t really like “new Taylor”. I love that she’s re-recording all her music, though! If you want to hear a real tearjerker, listen to Ronan (Track 21). Here’s an article explaining the history behind that song … don’t say I didn’t warn you though! You WILL cry, especially if you’re a parent!
what i’m wearing
All the cozy, layered, fall things 🤩
Most everything is linked in my LTK shop but if you don’t see something and you want to know what it is, just shoot me a message on IG!
what i’m doing this weekend
This weekend, we’ll be back from Socal (hopefully in one piece after the crazy road trip with our three kids AND two dogs 😱) and chopping down our Christmas tree! There may or may not also be a little elf who is returning to our house this weekend … 😉
what i’m looking forward to next month
CHRISTMAS!!! Our calendar is already completely full for the month and I’ve tried my best to preplan and prep so that I can be fully present and just enjoy the time with my kiddos. We’ll see if it pans out like that or not, though.
what else is new
Nothing much! Like I said, we’re in SoCal right now soaking up time with our family and enjoying (I’m sure) tons of delicious food. Hope all of y’alls Thanksgivings are wonderful too!

I’m belatedly catching up on my What’s Up Wednesday posts. I hope you had a great trip — it sounds a little insane but fun! And I have The Last Thing He Told Me to read over Winter Break. I’ve heard so many good things about it and can’t wait to dive into it!
