I’ll be honest, I wasn’t as prepared for this post as I was hoping to be so I won’t have as many fun pictures to share but hopefully for next month’s What’s Up Wednesday, it’ll be a different story!
What We’re Eating:
So lately I’ve been trying to incorporate Taco Tuesdays at our house. Mainly because other than E, my kids don’t really like Mexican food and being that we live in California – that is a CRYING SHAME. Tacos, what’s not to like about tacos!? That’s like a kid saying he doesn’t like pizza or something! So I started with super low expectations and told the younger two that the taco shells were like giant tortilla chips (which they like) … we’ve been doing Taco Tuesdays for a few weeks now and I’m happy to say that they’re REALLY enjoying it! Ok, granted – the little kids’ “tacos” are literally Korean rice with ground beef shoved into a taco shell but baby steps, guys, baby steps.
What I’m Reminiscing About:
My gomo sent me this old school photo of my brother and me. It’s probably circa .. 1999 or 2000? I’m guessing 1999 but I could be wrong. I’ve been reminiscing about my childhood with my brother lately. He’s spent most of the past 8 years overseas in Korea so I haven’t seen as much of him as I would have liked but when we were growing up, it was literally the two of us against the world. We were latchkey kids pretty much from elementary school onwards so we were alone together a lot and pretty close.
What I’m Loving:
So, as you all know now (*broken record here*), I’m doing the #75Hard challenge and as part of that have been eating super clean. And I am LOVING IT! Honestly, it was getting up the motivation to start that was the hardest – now I just love how I feel and I generally don’t feel like I miss the foods I’m not having (like desserts and stuff). Plus, my clothes have been fitting better which is always a big ego boost, you know what I mean?
What We’ve Been Up To:
Just a lot of this going on right now! Shuffling kids from one activity to the next; being a mama duck with my entourage of kiddos trailing behind 🙂
What I’m Working On:
Honestly, I’ve been working the most on keeping up with this blog!
What I’m Excited About:
Hahah, this is SUCH an old person thing to say but I’m planning to go to bed at, like, 8pm tonight – I’ve told hubby, gotten the a-ok, and I’m SO EXCITED about it. I am TIRED today and need the extra sleep, especially since I’ll still be getting up for my early AM workout tomorrow.
What I’m Watching/Reading:
I’m still trying to finish the Book of Life by Deborah Harkness 🙁 Sadly, I don’t think I’m going to be through any of the books that were on my “What To Read” post earlier this month but it’s been a crazy time trying to juggle all my workouts for my #75Hard challenge on top of all the normal wife & mom stuff. At this rate, if I can just finish the Book of Life by the end of the week, I’ll consider it a success.
What I’m Listening To:
You should already know this but … Frozen 2 soundtrack. Over and over again haha. I’ve also been listening to our @penandpagegals podcast (I always listen to our episodes after they’ve gone live to make sure it’s all smooth and there are no mistakes). If you haven’t ever listened, make sure to check us out on iTunes!
What I’m Wearing:
Okay, so this isn’t a fun fashion thing but if I’m being 100% real … what I’m wearing right NOW is my pajamas with this super soft & cozy Barefoot Dreams cardigan thrown on top. You guys, if you’ve never tried one of their cardigans YOU MUST! They’re so soft!! I actually usually sleep in mine too since I tend to run cold at night – it’s the BEST loungewear!
What I’m Doing This Weekend:
This is sad but we live so far away from a really good Korean grocery store that we have to actually schedule it onto our family calendar to go. We usually pick a weekend that’s relatively open, go, stock up on ALL THE THINGS, then eat dinner down near the grocery store, and then drive back home. That’s what we’re going to be doing this weekend, too, and I’m super pumped for that! I’m also getting a fun mani/pedi with one of my favorite girlfriends and I usually don’t do gel manicure/Shellac (because I hate the removal process) but I’m going to do it this time and I can’t wait!! My nails are gonna be looking guuuuuuuud.
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month:
February? Hubby turns 35! As I was typing that, I accidentally typed “25”. Hah, I wish.
What Else Is New:
Nothing much! See you guys for Friday Favorites this week!
