I don’t know what your homes look like right now but mine is a Christmas wonderland right now and I am IN LURRRVEEE. I’ve been in busy elf mode so I thought I’d do a post showing you all a few of the things that I got my three kids for Christmas! This isn’t a comprehensive list at all … really, I just picked a few of the top things that are on their wishlists this year. All of them are getting books to read, even though D & A don’t have books shown below. All three of them are also getting new clothes. D is also getting surprised with a Nintendo Switch that we got a great bundle deal on during Black Friday so again, this is just a glimpse to give people gift suggestions if they’re stuck! Enjoy!
E – Girl, 9 Years Old
Click Graphic Novels Series – E is super into reading graphic novels right now and the Click series is super popular for her age group (I’d say appropriate for ages 8+). She’s been asking for this one for about a month and I have been putting her off so I can gift it to her for Christmas.
Kids Digital Camera – E has a really old LeapPad from when she was a toddler that she’s really outgrown except for the fact that she loves the camera feature on it. Earlier this year her LeapPad went kaputz, which isn’t really a big deal since she does most of her screen time on an iPad these days anyway but she was sad about not having a camera (when she’s on the iPad we only allow her to use the specific app she’s playing, no exploring the iPad’s other features like camera, FaceTime, etc). I’m hoping this little digital camera will help fuel her creativity and satisfy that curiosity for photography she has!
Barbie Dreamhouse – Part of me feels like maybe E is getting too old for Barbies (thoughts, anyone?) but part of me knows that I secretly played with my Barbies until I was in middle school. She’s been asking for this Barbie Dreamhouse for 2-3 years now and this will finally be the year she gets one haha. That should make for a super exciting Christmas morning!
Ooly Art Supplies – Other than reading, E’s other big hobby is drawing. She is doodling and scribbling ALL DAY LONG. I just discovered Ooly Art Supplies this holiday season and they are so creative and unique so she’s getting a bunch of cool things from them this year. These scented glitter gel pens are just one example of the types of products Ooly has!
Flip Sequin Drawing Board – This might be an autism thing or it just might be a 4th grade thing, but E is obsessed with all things flip sequin. She loves flip sequins on her clothes, on her accessories, etc. I saw this little doodle board that’s made with flip sequins and thought she’d enjoy it too 🙂
D – Boy, 6 Years Old
BeyBlade Stadium – If you’re a boy mom and don’t know what BeyBlades are, are you even paying attention to your kids!? My son is OBSESSED with BeyBlades! The universe is SO big, I don’t even fully understand all the different types of Beys, how they battle, what makes one Bey better than another, etc. But I do know that D loves all things BeyBlades so he’ll be getting a ton of BeyBlade gear this Christmas including this battle stadium (arena?) where the tops can battle one another …3, 2, 1, let it riiiiip!
BeyBlade Set – See above. Honestly, D wrote an extremely detailed and specific list of what BeyBlades he wanted for Christmas and I no joke spent more than an hour Googling every single one of them. Some of them were discontinued or insanely expensive (collector’s item) so I threw in this random set of BeyBlades to put under the tree and have my fingers crossed that they will still rock his world.
Pokemon Clip & Carry Poke Ball Set – D also enjoys Pokémon (although not as much as BeyBlades!) and he wanted a Pokeball for Christmas. I didn’t even know if that was a thing that toy makers sell but apparently .. IT IS. I found this adorable little Pokeball + Belt set that will let your little guy feel like a true Pokémon trainer!
Super Mario Lego Sets – Video games like Mario and Mario Kart round out the rest of D’s biggest interests and I found these stinking adorable Lego sets that recreate scenes from Super Mario. I actually got mine from Target but Amazon has them too!
Operation Board Game – D didn’t ask for this .. he doesn’t even know what this game is. Really, if anything, I bought this because I’m having a kick of nostalgia and really want to play it but I also think he’s going to enjoy playing it too!
A – Girl, 3 Years Old
Toddler Karaoke Mic with Stand – If you know A then you know she’s the biggest ham and I am going to be shocked if she doesn’t end up doing something performance related when she’s older. I saw this toddler microphone with stand and knew it would be perfect for her show stopping Disney princess performances. Bonus, it includes a spare mic so her brother or sister can duet with her at the same time!
Princess Enchanted Cupcake Party Game – A is just past 3.5 years old so we haven’t had too much experience playing board games with her just yet but I do think this Disney Princess Cupcake Party game is a great way to dip her toe into the world of board games. Hopefully she’ll want to play the actual game and not just pull out the game pieces as her accessories -______-
Melissa & Doug Pretend Makeup – A got a similar pretend makeup set for Christmas last year and loved the thing to literal pieces. I thought I’d refresh her collection for this year’s Christmas and found this set by Melissa & Doug.
VTech Pretty Party Tea Set – I recently did a big purge/refresh in my home and the play kitchen that was originally living in our playroom got moved to A’s bedroom. Since it’s been in there, I’ve noticed that she’s enjoyed playing with it more and more and this little VTech tea set will be a cute addition to the kitchen set.
LeapFrog LeapStart Interactive Learning System – So, I’ve mentioned that during my kids’ screen time, E gets to do limited iPad, D is receiving a Nintendo Switch for Christmas that he’ll be using … well, A is definitely of the age when she wants to be copying her siblings. I used to buy my kids a LeapPad tablet when they were about 3 years old but after having gone through two of them (one for E, one for D) my opinion is that they don’t last very long and aren’t very well made. Plus, I think A would still have a hard time knowing how to navigate an actual tablet on her own so I settled for this LeapStart Interactive Learning System for her instead! It’s educational and she’ll still feel like she’s getting to participate in screen time like her older brother and sister!
And that’s it for us! My husband does NOT have a Christmas wishlist – I’ve asked him multiple times. If anything, it would be a gift to him to NOT buy anything because then we’d be saving money (he’s very fiscally minded hahaha). My gift this year was … a SoulCycle at home bike! I’ve actually been asking for one since my birthday and didn’t end up getting one in September so it became a Christmas present. I’ve only had it about a week but am obsessed! I’d definitely recommend it if you’re an avid SoulCycle fan and are looking specifically to recreate the SoulCycle vibe at home.
