I kickstarted my weekend with an early morning once again .. I let myself sleep in but my body clock naturally woke me up at around 6:20am. I woke up feeling super rested and ready for the weekend! I had a lot that I wanted to get done this weekend so I made sure to sit and write down my list. Organizing the chaos in my brain helps me to stay calm 😉

After my kids woke up and we got started on our day, I headed to the reservoir to walk with some of our favorite gal pals. I’m not going to lie … it was HOT this day and we were all sweaty and icky 😂
Flashback to 2015!! Baby D and baby M1 … and then look how big they are now 🥺

After walking with friends and eating lunch together, we parted our separate ways and went home. J & I actually had this weekend earmarked as one to head to our local Hmart to stock up on Korean groceries… I say “local” loosely. The closest one is about 40 minutes away so we do have to be intentional about putting “Korean grocery shopping day” on our calendar. We have smaller ones closer to our house but Hmart has EVERYTHING so we prefer to go there. We have a routine now where we always eat at the same Korean restaurant near our Hmart when we make the trek towards that direction. YUM.

Sunday morning was church … on Sundays we have a tradition of waking up early, getting ready, and heading to our favorite brunch spot downtown for breakfast before heading to church. We like to do this because there’s no dishes to clean up so we come back to a spotless kitchen after what is usually a tiring (but good) day at church.

I love hand-lettering my sermon notes … it helps me stay focused and pay attention PLUS I feel like I retain the information better.

After church, we came home and had lunch … rested… I’d toyed with the idea of inviting people over to swim because it was so hot but I was having feminine issues and feeling not the best. Plus J had to work and he felt like if people came, he’d be distracted (obviously) so we just had a quiet afternoon at home. I did bust out these snacks that we got at the Korean grocery store the day before. I’d never tried either of these and WOW. The turtle chips are a total new favorite 🤩 I’m going to have to pace myself with them!

These mint chocolate Pocky sticks were also pretty good (but not as good as the Turtle chips!!).

Monday was great because instead of sleeping in and wasting the day away, we all basically woke up around the time we would have woken up on a normal day. That meant we could spend the entire day just relaxing and doing things we wanted to do. J & I had talked about doing a beach day or even using this weekend to go on a staycation with the kids BUT he ended up actually having to work most of Monday too (so much for a day off, eh?) so it worked out that we were home with no plans. I tackled a BUNCH of things on my to-do list which made me sooooooo happy – but first: bacon. All great days start with bacon 😉

One of the big “projects” I really wanted to take care of this weekend was purging through my makeup collection. I still have a lot of makeup after going through everything but it’s all stuff that I still enjoy … it was kind of gross how old some of the makeup I ended up tossing out was LOL 😅

The kids kept themselves busy with games, art projects, etc … I know it’s not the first time I’ve said this and it won’t be the last. I LOVE having a ten, seven, and four year old! They’re still innocent and sweet and want my attention but can wholly play by themselves and leave me unbothered if I ask them to. 🤍
I hope you guys had a great, long weekend too!
