HAPPPPPPY MONDAY! I hope everyone had the best weekends, here’s a recap of what my weekend looked like!
friday
I KNOW y’all agree with me when I say weekends start on Friday at lunch 😂 J & I have been trying to take advantage of this whole COVID/WFH situation by having weekly lunch dates on Friday afternoons. For this Friday, we decided to try a new Korean street-food style restaurant that just opened up. The food was decent! Not the best ever but good enough for our local area.
D had soccer practice after school and this time he had a few extra cheerleaders there …
Actually, he was going over to a friend’s house for a sleepover that night (PPG Book Bestie & cohost’s son!) so they all just came to the soccer field and watched so that they could take D right after he was finished. A was so excited to have a mini playdate with their daughter and brought her tea party set from home.
After D left, I went home and J & I took our girls out to dinner! We asked E what she wanted and she wanted hamburgers so hamburgers we had!
And then, because I’m sure D was having the time of his life at his sleepover, we let the girls have a little movie night at home too.
saturday
These girls woke up bright & bushy-tailed Sat morning so we told E to make breakfast for her sister and herself and let us sleep 😂 When J & I finally got out of bed, we found then watching Cocomelon on the iPad 😑 I guess we can’t complain if we leave a 10 year old to watch a 4 year old, though.
And this was the scene going on with D at his friend’s house … early morning Star Wars battle.
The bulk of Saturday, I spent having a work day with my podcast cohost for SEASON 3 OF OUR PODCAST 🤯 Yes, we are entering our third year of Pen & Page Gals, guys! I am SUPER excited for this upcoming season … we’re making a few tweaks to our branding and our content and I think you guys will like the new changes. We’re still keeping the same essence of what makes us PPG but IMPROVING things. WOOOOHOOO!
After our work day, I came home and vegged like a potato in bed for the rest of the day.
sunday
Sunday morning we had church, of course.
Followed by lunch with friends … LOL these kids have all grown up together and they crack me up.
Is this blogworthy? Probably not. But I will not miss a chance to troll my Hubby if I can help it. At one point during lunch, I caught J checking his phone and I know he looks super stressed but this is just his concentration face. I remember when he was still in law school, I’d walk in to find him studying and he’d ALWAYS have this expression of constipation on his face. You’re gonna get wrinkles, J! Relax your face, buddy 😉
After lunch, we came home and I pulled out this treat puzzle for Kylo to try. I actually purchased it last year but never opened it because I felt like might be too advanced for him but I saw something online (okay fine, it was on TikTok) that said that super active dogs need to be mentally stimulated to get tired, not physically stimulated. Sooooo we decided to try this puzzle out and guys, Kylo mastered it within three tries. The first try, he kind of sniffed around and was learning “the lay of the land” with the puzzle. The second try, he was a bit quicker because he knew what he was doing. The third try, it wasn’t even hard. He just went straight for the hidden treat. LOL. I think that means he’s smart…..? Shekki.
I left Kylo with J and headed to our room for my POST CHURCH SIESTA! My favorite thing in the world 🙂
We ended Sunday and our weekend by hosting CG in our backyard. I told the kiddos that they needed to stay outside to play with the other CG kids but … we ended up moving inside at some point because it was just too freakin cold to be outside after 5pm.
That was our weekend! Thanks for reading!
