Hi guys! I usually try to have my Weekend Recap posts completed and scheduled to go live fresh on Monday morning so that you can get a good peek at my weekend but … well, it didn’t happen this time. Last week was a rough one for me and then we lost an hour of sleep (but gained an hour of daylight!) over the weekend and … yea.
Anyway, I had a super fun weekend! It was the perfect combination of time with some of my favorite peoples but also restful and quiet.
I woke up Saturday morning at 6:30 am which .. to me felt like “sleeping in” but when I realized how early it was for a weekend, I decided to go back to sleep. I ended up rolling out of bed around 9am and this was my view. Sunlight pourrrringgg in!
I’d wanted to get some errands done on Saturday morning but pretty much as soon as I woke up, I had a weird eyeball headache. Do you know what I’m talking about? It’s like a headache but it’s concentrated behind your eyes … I’m pretty sure it was a caffeine withdrawal headache since I usually have coffee around 5am but this day didn’t get it until closer to 10am. That would be the same as a normal person missing their morning coffee and not having it until lunch. I think. Anyhow, I started to get a crazy headache and I had plans later on Saturday afternoon/night that I didn’t want to miss so I chugged some Advil and went BACK to bed yet again.
This time I woke up around 2pm and felt like a ✨brand new person✨. It was pretty amazing, guys. I’m lucky that J is home and able to hold down the fort by himself pretty effortlessly if I’m out for the count, but also lucky that E is a big kid in her own right and can help with her siblings. Case in point: early on Sat morning, J took D to soccer practice and E fed her younger sister breakfast and played with her until I deigned to wake up. LOL. My kids are awesome 🙂
After getting up and getting dressed/ready for the day, I tried to take advantage of my freshly done hair & makeup to shoot some future content for my IG. I’d WANTED to get some cute pictures with the kids but J is the biggest troll in my life and kept making creepy faces like this in the back of all my pictures. Unusable *eyeroll*
The weather on Saturday was SO pretty! There was a slight bite to the air/wind but the sun was super warm so the kids all had a blast running around in the backyard. At one point I looked outside and saw D and his daddy deep in conversation. J LOVES to talk to the kids – all three of them. He asks them questions and just picks at their little brains. I think it’s a skill he learned from his dad (who also LOVES to talk). I think it’s sweet that this is how he shows our kids that he loves them.
I tried to take a picture of D in the backyard and he told me “Young Link is on vacation, mom.” Ok weirdo 😂 …. (Young Link is the costume he was wearing I think.)
Then I left for a girls’ night to celebrate a friend’s birthday! We got our nails done ..
And ate at The Slanted Door which is my go-to spot for birthday celebrations HAHA. I don’t care, the food is still good even if I do go there all the time!
Finished the night off with boba and then I headed home to crash.
The next day was Sunday and we had officially lost an hour overnight. D had soccer clinics again early in the morning and that is technically daddy’s duty to manage so … poor J had to get up even EARLIER on Sunday morning. He had a hard time getting up hahah. He doesn’t like it when I post pictures of him sleeping online (what an oddball) so here’s a picture of NOT his face passed out.
While he was gone at soccer, A woke up and crawled into bed with me and we FaceTimed daddy together. He took this screenshot and look how freaking adorable:
She looks like a little Toadstool mushroom. I want to eat her! NOM.
After soccer, we got ready and went to church and had a restful Sunday as a family. I don’t have anymore pictures because the whole day felt a little bit like an adjustment due to the time change and there were epic afternoon naps had by everyone once we got home.
I will say that waking up on Monday (today) at the early hour I do with the time change was *extra fun*
That’s it! I’m planning to put up a “Day in the Life” post later this week so be on the lookout for that!
