Hi friends! This post is inspired by a reel that my podcast cohost, Jensine, made a few weeks ago. Of course, weekly outfit posts aren’t something that’s new to the internet but seeing her reel of outfits for the week made me want to do something similar on my blog. Who wants to see some outfits today!?
SATURDAY
So just to note – you’ll notice right off the bat that none of my outfit pictures have my shoes featured because I don’t wear shoes inside my house and don’t have a mirror outside my house to take pictures 😂 so … sorry, the outfit pictures aren’t quite complete. Also, I’ve included links to everything that I could find links for – some of the links might be for items that are similar to the one I’m wearing instead of the actual item, depending on if I was able to find the correct link or not.
On this day, I had plans to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we were going to be getting our nails done and then eating dinner (outdoors bc COVID) after. I needed something that would be easy to pull up at the legs for the pedicure but that could also keep me warm when dining outdoors (no skirts, dresses, etc). I settled for these relaxed fit Gap overalls in black and went for a monochrome look by pairing them with a black & white striped shirt that I got from Nordstrom AGES ago. I also have freshly washed hair and put in some loose waves!
SUNDAY
Second day hair! The waves from the day before fell a bit but I think it still looks okay, just a bit more relaxed and tousled which is cool. The only big plans we had on this day were church so I dressed up a bit with this adorable maxi dress from Carly Jean Los Angeles and added a chunky turtleneck sweater also from CJLA on top for extra warmth. I’m a bit sad I don’t have a picture with my shoes because I wore light tan colored chunky booties and I feel like it really pulled my look together 😝
MONDAY
You can see that I’m on my Day 3 hair by now so it’s pulled back into a ponytail hahaha. It was also super COLD so I wanted to layer up my top. I paired a Free People long sleeve henley top with an oversized menswear inspired shirt by Carly Jean Los Angeles. I finished off with my faux leather leggings from Nordstrom (purchased during the Anniversary Sale a few years ago) and some grey platform Converse which you don’t see here because again, I don’t wear shoes inside my house. The leggings are SO comfortable and look extra chic because of the faux leather. They’re also super warm because of the extra thickness of the fabric. Double win 😉
TUESDAY
HAAHA so … Tuesday is my LEAST “put together” look. I was going for an athleisure vibe but really I just look like a mom. I know I do and I’m ok with it 🙂 I was on Day 4 hair at this point and it was gross so I threw a hat on and I also was going to go walk our local reservoir with a friend so I didn’t bother changing out of my workout clothes from earlier in the morning (I do my daily workouts before my kids wake up usually). Also, there’s a giant mess behind me because the cleaning ladies were scheduled to come to my house this morning so … I didn’t make my bed because it was going to get made by someone else later LOL. 🙈Everything I have on in this look is super old so I won’t try to find links BUT the leggings & tank top are both from Lululemon and obviously, the cropped sweater is from Nike.
WEDNESDAY
Hair and room are both clean today 🙂 I didn’t have much going on today other than normal mom stuff and to-do’s to take care of at home. I did have a Zoom Bible study, though, hence the makeup and nicer clothes LOL. This day I went for some straight leg jeans from Madewell paired with an olive-green knit top by Carly Jean Los Angeles (because it was St. Patrick’s Day and I wasn’t about to get pinched, ok?!) and finished with a washed black utility jacket from Madewell. This jacket was the PERFECT weight for the weather yesterday – structured and thick enough to provide some warmth but not so heavy that I was hot in it.
THURSDAY
If there were EVER a day to wear sweatpants, it would be this day. It was rainy, gloomy, cold .. the mood was somber due to the Atlanta shootings earlier in the week. I had an appointment with my chiropractor today so I needed to wear clothes that I could easily move in and be seen by my doctor in if necessary. I opted for these camo print jogger pants by Pink By Victoria’s Secret with a chunky sweater by Neuflora tucked in. I’m new to the brand Neuflora – discovered them through some IG friends – but I am OBSESSED. Their whole philosophy is taking a slower approach to fashion and they try to instill this philosophy throughout their whole business model. What that means is they release lookbooks well in advance of collection drops so that you can think through what you really need/want and their collections tend to be smaller and spaced out versus lots of items, frequently released. Their whole desire is for there to be intentionality in your shopping and for the items you purchase to have lasting power in your closet. Love it! Anyway, I finished off my outfit with my tried & true Hunter jean jacket by CJLA and called it a day.
FRIDAY
I don’t know about you but I LOOOOVE Fridays. I wouldn’t normally wear jeans twice in a week (PANDEMIC FASHION, hello?!) but I had plans to meet a friend for lunch this day so I wanted to look …semi-presentable. I know Gen Z says that skinny jeans are no bueno but it was gloomy & rainy this day so I wanted to be able to tuck my jeans into my rain boots without having them bunch up. PLUS I LIKE SKINNY JEANS, OK!? I paired my stretchiest, comfiest CJLA skinnies with an oversized tunic sweater by Free People to stay cozy. I am obsessed with this Free People sweater – I have it in several colors 🙈
That’s it! I had a lot of fun documenting this … if you liked it, leave a comment letting me know so I know to make more of them in the future! 🙂
