I know, I know. 2 years of silence and I suddenly pop back into your life, like, “Hey, girl, hey … remember me?”
So where have I been!?
Well, I have to say that the past two years have been chock full of lots of new changes for our family as well as for me personally. You’re about to read about a LOT of different things that we’ve been doing/going through for the past two years so sit down and get ready!
Right after my last post in May 2016, I started working for a personalized styling company as an online personal stylist. This is a part-time work from home gig that I’ve really been enjoying, but as I started the work, I realized that it was taking up literally all of my free time. Meaning that there was no extra time for me to write. I decided back then to take the summer to adjust to my new work/life balance and to start updating my blog again once E started kindergarten in the fall. But then, well, at the end of July this happened:
We found out we were expecting baby #3!
Having another baby was something that J & I hemmed and hawed over for months and months. For me, the struggle was that I wanted another baby .. but only if it was another girl. And I didn’t want to get pregnant with that mindset – as in, I wanted this baby to know that he/she was wanted and loved from the beginning, regardless of its sex. So I waited for the Lord to work in my heart a bit and honest to God, the month that I finally felt ready to welcome any new blessing that the Lord wanted to give us, was the same month that I found out we were pregnant. WHAT?!
My third pregnancy was the worst and hardest BY FAR out of the three. I gained twenty pounds in the first trimester alone just from being sick and only being able to eat bread & cheese for 13 weeks straight. Anytime I tried to keep up with my regular workouts or even just go for a simple walk on our local trail, I’d get an insane migraine and need to lie down. It was rough, you guys!
Thankfully, J was able to be home for a few months until the start of the new year in 2017. How? He found a new job that wasn’t available to start until January! So he took the opportunity to quit his old job a little early and be home with us and have a little taste of what a day in my life is usually like. He’ll be the first to tell you that it’s harder than anything he does at his desk job in the city 😉 It was nice having him around as Mr. Mom and I welcomed all the extra help since I was basically comatose in bed baking a new human being.
Shortly after the holidays, J started his new job … but wait! You think that’s all? Oh no, three weeks after he started work, we MOVED HOUSES. I know, are you following along here? Not only was I (now) 7 months pregnant and my husband was trying to impress his new bosses, but we were also packing up boxes and in the middle of moving. I’m telling you, when it rains it POURS.
I’ll write more in-depth posts regarding each of these different changes we’ve had in the past few years (especially the pregnancy/baby!!) but for now, I just wanted to hop on here and let you know that I’m alive and ready to get back into writing on here!
I also wanted to point out that I got my subscription box fixed so if you’d like to make sure you NEVER MISS A POST be sure to enter your email in the little box to the right of your screen (or at the bottom if you’re viewing on your phone)! And follow me on Instagram: @mannaformommy 🙂
