Here we go! My favorites from the week!
My first favorite this week has been the slow and quiet mornings I’ve given back to myself by waking up before 530am everyday. I touched on this a bit in my What’s Up Wednesday post but honestly, I think my body rhythm thrives better with an early to rise/early to bed cycle. I haven’t felt so good since the pandemic hit! (Even though I fully acknowledge that I look a little bleary and rough here LOL.)
Nail salons are finally back open in my county after being closed for what feels like forever (at least that’s what my toenails tell me 😝) and I have an appointment to go on a mommy/daughter date with E to get our nails done. Pampering time + quality time with my favorite first child?! Always a yes in my book. I asked her out on our “date” with this cute note 😉
I don’t usually have fresh flowers in my house unless they’re SUPER beautiful or given to me for a specific reason buuuuut I saw these tulips at Trader Joe’s and couldn’t say no! They’re the perfect little spot of color in what has been an otherwise dreary week in the Bay Area.
Speaking of dreary weather .. you know what always brightens up a gloomy day? Bacon. Always, bacon. If you’re not a big bacon fan, I’m not sure you’re in the right place …
In other food-related content, I decided to give this Primal Kitchen dressing a try and holy smokes it’s yummy! It’s definitely got that tangy, slightly sour/vinegar Greek dressing taste so if that’s not your jam then maybe stay away. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about Primal Kitchen products on IG, I think because they tend to be Whole30 friendly and Jan is when a lot of people do a Whole30 reset? I’m not doing that by the way, but I still wanted to give this dressing a try. It’s tasty with just lettuce or you could jazz up your salad with feta cheese and some tomatoes!
I mentioned how Kylo has become a new dog upon returning to us from his board & train program and the biggest favorite that has come out of that whole situation is that he and A are able to spend time together without one of them (the human one) crying. He sits still and lets her pet him, doesn’t try to jump on her or nip at her. It’s amazing!
The jumbo sized trampoline that my in laws ordered for my kids as their Christmas gift also arrived/got assembled this week. It’s been rainy so we haven’t been able to test it out but the fact that it’s here and ready to use is another total favorite of mine! I can’t wait to get some good use out of this in the spring/summer!
Last favorite: How many more years of this do you think I have left?
She proclaimed to me “no nap!” after school and since she’s halfway between needing a nap and not needing one, I said that’s fine and she didn’t need to sleep. Except then she fell asleep on the couch while watching tv. That’s not a favorite but getting to pick her up and snuggle her through IS! Why are babies so much cuter when they’re in a deep sleep 🥺

Yes to the tulips and bacon! Have you tried the bacon in the air fryer? It’s cooked to perfection!! So glad doggie school as hood for Kylo. Have a great weekend.
