It’s my first post of 2022 and TWO WEEKS into the new year!! Guys, when I tell you COVID was like a time warp for me … I really mean it. I have no idea where the last three weeks of my life went. I was the last one in my family to catch COVID and also was the only person to have lingering symptoms for WAY past my quarantine time. Everyone else seemed to get sick, have symptoms of varying degrees for anywhere from 2-4 days, then be done with it completely once they felt better. I got sick and essentially slept away an entire week. After my quarantine was done and I was by all accounts feeling much better (no more aches, chills, sore throat, etc), I was still SO EXHAUSTED. And I had weird insomnia despite being so fatigued … and also lingering headaches. FOR A LONG FREAKING TIME. Anyway, this week I finally started feeling like myself again and I am ready to jump back into blogging! And what better day to ring in 2022 on my blog than on a Friday?!
EEEEEEP!!! My first favorite is that I FINALLY managed to convince J to buy us a Peloton. Not the bike! I still love and use my SoulCycle bike, but I’ve been asking for a Peloton treadmill for awhile now. I think he was hesitant because we both weren’t sure where to put it – I was saying to put it in our bedroom and get rid of the current machine we have in there (a Bowflex treadclimber) – but J wasn’t keen on putting it in our room. We managed to clear out enough space in the garage over winter break that we could fit the Peloton treadmill in there next to J’s “office” space so … we went ahead and ordered one! It should be here by the end of Jan and I am SO excited! I’m not a runner but I do like power walking so I think I’ll be using it mainly for that.
My littlest girl asked to buy a shirt with buttons on it (so specific LOL) so I took her and my big girl out for a shopping date. We only hit up Zara and the Amazon book store but look at that big bag of goodies these girls walked out with! #spoiled #sigh
Sports resumed recently after taking a break for the holidays and I’ve been loving seeing D out on the soccer field again.
OMG, I also have been watching way more TV than I normally would – partially because I was so tired from COVID that I couldn’t really do much other than watch something. I HIGHLY recommend Singles Inferno on Netflix, which is a Korean dating show. I binge watched the entire thing in one weekend which I NEVER do with shows… I loved it because it wasn’t trashy at ALL. There were no sleezy makeout sessions or sexual hook ups, it was all very sweet and cute to watch hahaah. I also started watching season 2 of Cheer on Netflix… so far, I really like it. I enjoyed season 1 so I wasn’t sure if I’d feel the same way about season 2 but so far so good. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same thing about season 2 of Emily in Paris. I’ve tried watching an episode or two but I think I might give up on it :/ womp womp.
Daisy got the last of her “required” immunization shots right after Christmas so she’s officially allowed to be out and about in the world now! We’ve been allowing her to meet new neighborhood dogs and go on walks … she’s PSYCHO on walks but the good thing is that it completely tuckers her out (whereas Kylo can walk 5 miles and still have energy to ask for more).
This little ballerina has been LOVING dance class lately …
And the last favorite I have for this week is that we celebrated D’s 8th birthday last weekend! He REALLY wanted a birthday party with his school friends… I wasn’t really sure how to accommodate that in COVID times since I know different people have different comfort levels. The best thing would have been to have it outside but with the crazy rain last month, I didn’t want to plan for outdoors and then be stuck cancelling it or *gasp* having all those boys inside my house. Thankfully, D’s taekwondo studio was willing to come in on the weekend (they’re normally closed) and host all the boys in D’s class for an hour of FUN. They had a blast! D got to jump over two of his friends and kick a board in half too 🤩
And then of course, he got to come home and open all the presents which is probably what he REALLY wanted from having a birthday party anyway. LOL.
That’s it for my Friday Favorites! This weekend is a long weekend and also D’s actual bday so we’ve got some fun family things planned to celebrate our favorite 8-year-old! Thanks for reading friends, and HAPPY 2022!
