Well, this week started off interestingly didn’t it!?
In case you live under a rock (or … maybe just have a really healthy detachment from social media 😂) Facebook/IG were down for the majority of the day on Monday and it. was. hilarious. My first two favorites this week are these memes from Twitter.
My next favorite is actually … KYLO LOL! We’ve come such a long way, Kylo, haven’t we 😂 It’s almost his 2nd birthday (he turns two in December) and both J & I have noticed a huge shift in his behavior recently. He’s definitely still derpy and a little busybody but he’s also mellowed out a LOT. For example, it used to be that when we’d let him roam the house freely, he’d spend the ENTIRE time sniffing manically and never calming down. HOURS. But now, he spends maybe 10 minutes sniffing and then plops down at our feet wherever we happen to be (the kitchen, living room, wherever). And just lays there. And “sleeps” (it’s not really sleeping bc he perks up the moment we move but he lays there with his eyes closed). He’s still not super cuddly and I’m probably his #1 favorite over the kids but I think that’s just his personality and not his fault. I think considering where we began at with him, I’m pleasantly surprised at the kind of dog he’s turning into.
Another favorite this week is my other son (my non-canine one). I was recording D for a video he made for his friend’s birthday and … he looked simultaneously so big but so little. I don’t know how to explain it and unless you’re a parent yourself, you probably won’t get it. But he looked so GROWN but also, he’s only 7 years old and I just stared at him thinking that he amazes me but also I want to give him kissies all over his face 😂
Okay … I already know that most of you are going to look at my next favorite and think I’m insane and you know what? You’re probably right.
LOL, I started Christmas shopping this week and I LOVE IT. It’s been a total favorite for me this week! I always start by brainstorming a list of possible gifts and also a list of people who need a gift (teachers, staff, friends, etc). I haven’t purchased anything yet (that’s a lie, I did buy one thing for A but let’s just pretend I didn’t ok) but I DID get my kids’ advent calendars 🤩 They get the same advent calendars every year (but the updated versions), and our Elf on the Shelf, Finley, brings them to the kids at our annual North Pole Breakfast. E always gets a Lego Friends advent calendar, D always gets the Star Wars Lego advent calendar, and A has alternated between the Fisher Price Little People one and a PlayMobil one. This year she got the PlayMobil Royal Picnic one!
1:1 time with this big girl is always a favorite … she’s almost as tall as me you guys!! 😭😭PLUS the fact that the weather significantly dropped this week which means .. SWEATER WEATHER was another favorite for me.
It was also Walk To School Day this week and while we usually do walk to school anyway, it was a favorite to see tons of new kids/families that normally DON’T walk on our route to school. By the time we got to campus, we had a whole group of kiddos!
My most heartwarming favorite this week … both kids advanced to the next belt level in TaeKwonDo. D has been doing TKD since he was 4 so he’s a “pro” by now but E only just started this summer. This is the first sport/physical activity that she has had any resemblance of success at. Not gonna lie, I got a little emotional watching her get her belt. She’s literally the same level as a kindergartener but it doesn’t matter because she worked hard and she got there in her own pace and timing. She was SO PROUD OF HERSELF; guys she cheered and clapped loudest for herself when she got her new belt. TOTAL FAVORITE!
And this is my last favorite for the week 🙂 Hubby is a huge Dodgers fan and I guess (??) there was some important game happening on Wednesday night? I honestly don’t know (he’s rolling his eyes at me right now I JUST KNOW IT HAHAHA). He was watching the game with Kylo and sent me this picture .. apparently Kylo was very invested in the Dodgers too. Bwahahaahah!
Happy Friday!!! 🤍
