Is it just me or have the weeks been FLYING by lately? I think being back into a routine with full-day school for all my kids has been helpful in that way too but MAN – where are the days going?
For my first favorite this week, I have to mention the big obvious one… THIS BLOG BEING BACK IN COMMISSION. It took me a lot of hours to figure out all the tech-related stuff but I am really enjoying the new design and look of the website. What do you guys think?
My next favorite is a drink … a Starbucks drink … which I really REALLY didn’t think I would like but now I can’t stop thinking about. It’s the salted caramel cream cold brew 😍 I’d tried the pumpkin cream cold brew coffee previously and thought it was way too sweet but several of my friends suggested the salted caramel cream as an alternative and now it’s all I want. SO GOOD!
Another food/drink related favorite is this jar of sweet & spicy pickle chips from Trader Joe’s. These babies really pack some heat in them! I’ve been enjoying them with my lunch … they’re great with chicken! If you like kimchi, I’d say the heat index is similar to kimchi but with a much sweeter flavor. I’m warning you, though .. they’re addicting.
Hospital Playlist Season 2 is finally out!!! I think it actually started airing a few weeks ago but I like to wait as long as possible before watching so I can move onto the next episode as soon as I’m ready versus waiting another week for it to be released. If you enjoy Korean dramas, you NEED to watch Hospital Playlist (Season 1 aired last year and you can watch it on Netflix). It reminds me of Grey’s Anatomy meets This Is Us without all the steamy sex scenes. So fun!! I am purposefully trying to pace my watching of this show so I don’t end up binging it all in one go. I only let myself watch it while I’m doing cardio on my stationary bike 😉
Another recent favorite has been this cute girl and the fresh new cut she got. She asked me to book her an appointment to cut her hair short. It was sort of out of the blue but I made her an appt anyway and she’s loving the new length!
Of course, once E came home with her haircut that meant a certain little sister HAD to get her haircut too. A demanded that she have “small hair”** like her unni (unni = big sis in Korean) so I went back to the salon the following week to give the sassy one a matching cut. HOW. FREAKIN. CUTE. IS. THIS.
**Also, I am obsessed with how A called her short hair “small hair”. She also called her big toe her “thumb toe” earlier this week and I just about died 😂
And speaking of cuties, I am LOVING that my kids’ elementary school is allowing on-site parent volunteers again and I am signing up as often I can for *all the duties*. That included picture day (which was a 4-hour shift 😬) … the best part of picture day was I got a sneak preview of D’s school picture for this school year. Gahh, he looks so big and handsome 🥺
You know what will always be a favorite for me? Watching live musicals. I have been away from the theater for too long so when I got the email saying Hamilton would be playing a limited run in SF I jumped on the chance for tickets. THE SHOW WAS SO GOOD and I’m not just saying that! This was my third time watching Hamilton and the cast for this tour is by far the best (although many of the actors/actresses are recurring from past tours). The actress who plays Eliza Hamilton in this run is exceptional and I have to shout her out. Go check out Victoria Ann Scovens on IG!
I can’t remember if I’ve named this book in a Friday Favorites yet or not … I started reading it earlier this summer with an older sister that goes to our church but in case I haven’t mentioned it – THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. It’s been a total favorite to read & discuss it with another sister in Christ.
That’s my last favorite for this week! This weekend is Labor Day weekend and we don’t have any plans as of right now. If you’re going somewhere or doing something fun, I hope you stay safe and have the best time!
