I think I’m going to start a new series on this blog called D SAID WHAT. D is 4.5 years old now and his conversations/language/insights are so hilarious, I find myself repeating the stories over and over to J, my parents, anyone who will listen. We missed out on this precious milestone with E so I am relishing all the adorable things he comes up with. I think recording them on this blog will be a better way to serve my memory in the future 🙂
Bell Peppers – my kids love them. Well, my big kids do. The jury’s still out with our youngest one on whether or not she likes them but both E & D can probably eat their own weight in raw bell peppers if I let them. The other day, we were coming home in the car and D asked me if we had any bell peppers that he could have with his lunch.
D: Do we have bell peppers for lunch?
Me: Oh … you know what, no. I totally forgot to get more at the store, I’m sorry! I’ll get some for tomorrow’s lunch, okay?
D: Aww! Mommy, when I’m big, I’m going to grow up and go to work in a black car (my husband drives a black car) so I can get money and buy BELL PEPPERS for my LUNCH.
Me: Oh .. ok, buddy. That sounds like a good plan.
D: I’m going to be like daddy and go to work and buy bell peppers. I’M NOT GOING TO BE LIKE YOU.
(Maybe you had to be there, but I was laughing so hard in the car when he said that last part. God forbid, he should grow up and be a person who forgets to buy bell peppers for his kids.)
