Hey there, I’m Sophia! I have been married to my sweet husband, J, since 2009 and am a lucky mama to three beautiful babies and two furballs (Kylo & Daisy).
There’s our oldest, E, who is in 7th grade and on the autism spectrum. She loves books and singing and is a quiet, sweet soul. She’s the one who made me a mama. Next, there’s D – our middle child and only son. He is in 4th grade and is SO smart and astute (if I do say so myself). Last is A, also known as “Baby A” during her first few years on this blog. She’s the youngest (1st grade) and the spicy sauce we didn’t know we needed in our family dynamic.
I love being a mom and I love being a wife. I also love books and am so passionate about literacy that I went back to my teaching roots and picked up a part-time gig as a librarian at my kids’ elementary school a few years ago. In my free time, when I manage to have some, I enjoy reading (duh) and going on hot mom walks (LOL) around my neighborhood. Fashion, beauty, and Korean dramas are some other interests I also have but on a much smaller scale since my family and work keep me pretty busy these days.
At my core, I’m just a sinner saved by grace, sustained day to day by grace, and sanctified by grace. I don’t have all the answers; God is still teaching and pruning me as I navigate life on this side of eternity. This blog has taken on many different forms and purposes throughout the years but in its original intent, it was a place for me to process my own thoughts and musings as I bumbled through the unique journey of being a special-needs mom. As most things in life do, my blog has transformed and grown as the seasons of life I’ve found myself in have shifted. These days, you’ll still find me thinking out loud about what it means to parent a child on the autism spectrum but there’s also a lot of “other content” (like marriage, girly stuff, books, etc) sprinkled in throughout, too. I know that not everything I say will always be perfect or “right” but I hope God uses me and my little corner of the internet to bring Him glory and a smile to your face. Feel free to drop me an email or a comment to say hi!
