I don’t know about you .. but I’m feeling 2022. On this last day of 2021, before we usher in the new year, I thought it would be fun (for me … and maybe you) to do a recap of this last year. Let’s goooooo!
january
In January, we kicked off the year as we always do in Socal with J’s side of the family.

And celebrated our little man turning SEVEN.

We also welcomed home Kylo after his three-week stint with the professional dog trainer … and were pleased to see that he was a completely different dog than the one we said goodbye to.

february
In February, the two big exciting things were that our kids were able to return to school in a hybrid format after spending all of the school year online…

and we celebrated J turning 36!

march
In March, I fulfilled my best Joanna Gaines dreams and enlisted the help of my talented friends in building out some vegetable boxes for our front lawn!
april
April was a super busy month for our family. Not only did we have two birthdays – A turned 4 and I hosted a backyard party for her to celebrate:
– And E turned 10:
But we also hosted Easter at our house (per tradition):

And I also managed to get away for a whirlwind girls’ weekend to a hotel to binge watch Shadow & Bone with my book besties:

may
In May, we closed out the school year and then surprised all our kids with a trip to Disneyland!!! We stayed at the Grand Californian and it was the best Disney trip we’ve ever taken IMO. Day 1 Recap and Day 2 Recap here.
june
June marked the start of summer break and we were busy as first-time swim team parents.

My in-laws also managed to pop up to the Bay Area to visit which was fun!
july
In July, we celebrated 4th of July on a boat with some friends…

And J & I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary, too!

Then we closed out the month with our first family trip to Hawaii!

august
August marked the return to school for all three of our kids –
AND I got to see Hamilton for the third time! I was so happy to be able to see live performances again!

september
September was my birthday month, so you KNOW it was just an entire month filled with celebrating 🙂 I got to go away for a weekend with some friends and discovered my new favorite place on earth – the Burke Williams Day Spa LOL.
My brother also came for a visit in September so we got to see him for the first time in a long time!

october
October we went to the pumpkin patch with FRamily and trick-or-treated quietly in our neighborhood…
november
And then NOVEMBER life started to get crazy because we brought home THIS GIRL:

And thought it would be fun to drive down with her, Kylo, and our three human kids to spend Thanksgiving with J’s side of the family 🤪

december
December was the most wonderful time of the year 😉 We hosted our annual Christmas party with friends…
And also had some special visitors staying with us for a weekend.

We celebrated Christmas together at home:

aaaaaand we learned that the cold each of us took turns having over winter break was actually COVID so ended up canceling our SoCal plans to be safe since I am still sick (the others are all healthy and past a 10-day quarantine now) 🙃 It’ll be our first year since getting married that we haven’t celebrated New Years in SoCal. Thanks a lot, COVID! (We’re doing fine btw, no need to worry lol). Let’s hope for a better end to the year in 2022!
