10 on 10 is a post where I post 10 pictures from the 10th of every month!
Yay, I haven’t done a 10 on 10 post in a LOONNNG time. I’m excited!
I started off the day on a not-so-great foot. I usually am an early (like: 5am) riser and like to get a head start on my day; it gives me a chance to not be constantly playing catch up with myself as the day goes on and I love feeling like I wake up, ready to tackle whatever is going to come my way. This did not happen today, LOL. It also is unfortunate that of all days for me to wake up late, it was a Monday – because I feel like Monday sets the tone for the whole week. I woke up late because I was up late finishing reading “The Cruel Prince” by Holly Black. In reality, I only went to bed around 11pm, but when you normally go to bed at 9pm, that’s pretty late! Because I went to bed late, I allowed myself the luxury of sleeping in later than normal … but because I rarely sleep in, I miscalculated how much extra sleep I could actually afford myself and ended up waking up woefully later than I really should have. It was a mad dash to get out of the house with everyone intact. But here’s my first snap of the day – a peaceful moment mid breakfast before I made my rounds of dropping everyone off at school.
I had literally 10 minutes in between when the kids were all dropped and when I had to be at my PT session … but 10 minutes are still 10 minutes, so I pulled out the sequel to The Cruel Prince and read for a bit. I will just go ahead and tell you right now that reading this book was pretty much all I did today and because of that, I let all my other to-dos fall through the cracks. I don’t really regret it tho 😉
I have a regular personal training session on Monday mornings. I’ve been seeing my PT for almost two years now .. we started working together when I was recovering from my post-partum injury with baby A and needed a lot of strengthening in my body. I keep seeing her now even after I’ve fully healed because we’re working on strengthening my core and upper body.
I wasn’t completely unproductive today! After PT, I had to rush home for a work call and was able to get a little bit of work done before diving back into my book >< LOL
As part of my #75Hard diet, I’ve tried to eliminate as much gluten and dairy from my diet as possible and these chips by Siete are MY JAM. They’re SO good!! This brand also makes really good chickpea flour tortilla for days I want some vegan quesadillas. I finished off a whole bag while .. you guessed it, reading my book. You can peep it in the picture under the chips hahaha.
Mondays are my days to water all the plants in my house. These are just a few of my plant babies but I’m really proud of them because I’ve managed to keep them alive the longest out all the greenery in my house at the moment .. almost two years! Do you guys have specific days that you do specific household chores on?
On Mondays, D also goes to our neighbor’s house for some weekly tutoring. She actually used to be D’s old preschool teacher (before we moved next door) and after we became friends, I learned that she teaches swim AND does academic tutoring so in the summers she comes and gives my kids swim lessons, and during the school year, she tutors D in reading and math. He’s been seeing her for more than a year and is already reading past grade level!
Piano practice after tutoring 🙂 E practiced piano too but I didn’t take a picture of it. Looking back on my pictures, I guess I wasn’t as unproductive as I thought .. at least I still made my kids take care of their responsibilities while I read my book.
These two sisters have been forming a real sweet bond recently. They enjoy playing together more and E likes mothering over baby A in a really tender way (I recognize her mimicking the way I speak and treat baby A).
Anyway, if you’re keeping count … you’ll notice there are only 9 pictures for my 10 on 10. That’s because after this last picture, I got caught up in dinner, and bedtime routines and then .. I spent my time finishing my book hahaah. So I don’t really have another picture to post but we’ll just call it a day with what I have and hope for a more productive 10 on 10 next month.
Bye, friends!
