Is this right?! LOL I think the last time I did a 10 on 10 was back in JANUARY.
The reason for that is because the 10th of the month has lately been falling on days that already have a different monthly post scheduled – for example, there are some posts that are scheduled for the second Wed of every month and I think for awhile the second Wed was consistently the 10th. In any case, we’re back and better than ever so let’s goooooo!
10 on 10 is a when I post 10 pictures from the 10th of the month!
My alarm went off at 5am today as usual but if I’m honest, I snoozed it which I NEVER EVER DO. I didn’t sleep that well last night and if I feel like I need extra sleep, I almost always just take it – the 5am wake up time is there to serve me not the other way around.
That said, I did still wake up early (around 530?) and got my coffee … but you know what I didn’t do is workout LOL. I spent the morning just doing some work, blogging, organizing my life. Later in the day, I still felt a little sluggish despite the extra sleep and thinking back on it now I actually think it’s because I skipped my workout. I don’t know about you but starting the day by moving my body actually gives me more energy later?
After all the kids were dropped at their respective camps, I ran some errands which included swinging by Target. I originally went for an order pick-up I placed on some sandals but decided to grab some groceries while I was there too. I’m in desperate need of a Trader Joe’s run but summer camps are so short, I don’t enough time to run around to all the necessary places before pick up times right now.
E is in summer school (it’s free, provided by the school district through her IEP) and it ends at 11:30. The parking lot of her summer school location is SUPER tiny and they ask parents not to arrive before 11:30 so that traffic doesn’t snake out of the parking lot and create a jam. YET EVERY DAY when I arrive “on time” to pick her up, there’s already a huge, long line of cars waiting. Today, after running to Target I thought .. you know what, I’m just going to go to her school early. It was 11 am. THIRTY MINUTES EARLY. And look, I’m not the first car in line and there was quickly a long line of cars forming behind me. These crazy parents 🤪
After picking up E (and her siblings after that), it was back home for lunch. I did a quick garden check …
And let this monster out for a potty break. D & A’s summer camps are walking distance from our house so in the mornings at drop-off, we’ve been walking to camp with Kylo in tow. He’s such an oddball … he’s still kind of a nervous dog (I think the pandemic was honestly the worst for him because it limited his exposure to other people during the crucial socialization period of his life) but he wants to be friendly. So when we’re walking to camp, people will want to say hi and he’ll wag his tail like “yea! I want to say hi!” and then he’ll sniff them and GROWL as if to say “but you better not mess with me because I’M SCAWY!”. Ugh. All while still wagging his tail. He’s psycho.
After lunch, my kids did some mommy summer school while I got some blog work done …
And then while they enjoyed screen time after mommy summer school, I stepped outside on our porch to read a little bit. I brought Kylo with me and he kept trying to sit in my lap 🙄
D had taekwondo and we came back, ate dinner, then played outside a bit. A got this new toy and was SO HAPPY with it, look at that cheesy grin on her face. Back story: she had the toy car version of this and loved it and in a fit of organization, my husband THREW IT AWAY. I tried to tell him that she still plays with it but he told me she didn’t and that he wanted to get rid of it. I said fine but on the one condition that if she asks for it/wonders where it went, we have to replace it. AND SURE ENOUGH. She started asking a few days later where her toy car went? So, we had to buy her a new one 😬 I opted for the princess carriage version this time which I think she likes even better.
My kids are showered and watching TV right now. We’re going to put them to bed early because J & I have sushi takeout waiting in the fridge for us (date night at home!) and an episode of The Handmaid’s Tale to watch! WOOHOO!
