10 on 10 is a when I post 10 pictures from the 10th of the month!
So I’m just going to go ahead and spoil this post for you and say .. it’s not going to be a 10 on 10, even though that’s what this post is titled. It’s gonna be more like 7 on 10 or 6 on 10; I’m not exactly sure yet but unfortunately, I didn’t get as far as taking 10 pictures today.
D started a new club soccer team and has early morning practices on Saturday and Sunday mornings so first thing this morning, his daddy woke him up and the two of them set out for the field. I got this picture sent to me after practice was over; apparently they were rocking out to rock music in the car. Awesome.
The girls and I woke up after the boys left and I fed them breakfast then sat down to do my Bible reading for the day from The Bible Recap yearly reading plan I’m following.
Then after coffee, Bible, and breakfast, it was time to load up the car and drop E off somewhere! We don’t normally schedule extracurriculars on Sundays like this but (1) it doesn’t interfere with church time for now because everything is so early in the morning, (2) the activity that E is going to is only for the month of January, and (3) the activity is equine therapy. It’s hosted at an outdoor ranch where she already attends a mid-week social skills class for special needs kids and I’ve heard so many amazing things about equine assisted therapy. I’ve tried to get her into various other places for years but everything is either booked up or super inconvenient for our family so it’s kind of crazy that this tiny local ranch in our town is now offering it on a limited basis. If you don’t know much about equine therapy, just do a quick Google search. It’ll explain it better than I can 😉
After everyone got home from their things, we had church (no picture) and then I went to get some bodywork (myofascial massage) for the crazy back and shoulder pain I’ve been having. Because of the pandemic, you need a doctor’s note in order to be seen (which I have) and boy, was I SO in need of this session. It wasn’t relaxing at all but I walked out feeling a lot better than I did when I walked in.
After my appointment, I came home and had some lunch … and watched more Bridergerton 🙂 I picked up an Italian cold cuts sandwich from my favorite local deli .. I haven’t had one of their sandwiches in about a year – definitely not since the pandemic hit, which was TEN FREAKING MONTHS AGO WHAT THE INSANITY IS THAT.
After lunch, I was REALLY feeling the after-effects of my massage appointment and needed to lie down. Also it turned out my monthly visitor arrived so that just compounded the need for a nap. D wanted to snuggle next to me; I can’t believe he’s going to be 7 next week. How many more years do you think I have of him snuggling in bed with his mama?
After my nap – which I FORCED myself to wake up out of otherwise my night would be completely off kilter – I woke up, ate some dinner, read some more of our podcast bookclub pick (A Court Mist & Fury) and just chilled. This is my last picture that I have from this evening so again, sorry that it’s not a full 10 on 10 but my day just wasn’t that interesting this time around!
