There’s a mommy blogger that I’ve been following for a few years, and she does a post on the 10th of every month where she posts 10 pictures from that day. I’ve always thought that would be a fun blog post to do so here I am! I finally remembered to take 10 pics on the 10th of the month 🙂
Our mornings typically start off with this one in our bed. She’s the early riser of our family and is usually awake before any of us are but she knows to play quietly in her room until she hears us stirring. Once she hears us getting ready, she comes out and likes to snuggle in our bed for a bit before getting dressed for school.
After the hustle & bustle of getting the big kids dressed/fed/ready for school, baby A & I usually hang out together for a few hours before she goes down for her morning nap. These days, she’s been really loving books; I’ll find her in here by herself, just looking at all her books!
On Thursdays, I have A signed up for Kindergym but today was a special day because J was working from home. I told him he didn’t have to come since … you know .. he’s still technically “working” but he wasn’t about to pass up this chance to watch his maknae having the time of her life. (She LOVES Kindergym.)
The reason why J worked from home today was because today was the Mother’s Day celebration in D’s preschool class! They ask that we don’t bring siblings unless they’re nursing/really tiny babies so I needed someone to be home with A while I went to D’s school. We had such a special time playing together and all the little kiddos sang songs/had gifts for their moms. D’s face lit up so brightly when he saw me walk into the classroom, I’m so glad that I was able to make it for him today.
After D & I came home from school, it was time for me to jet off to E’s school because she was having a special bridging ceremony for her Daisy Scouts troop. Her entire troop “bridged” and graduated from Daisies to Brownies!
J’s work schedule has been all sorts of insane up until today (I’m SO happy he was able to stay home and get a little break from all the office craziness). Because he’s been busy at work, that means I’ve also been extra exhausted handling all 3 kiddos by myself from wake to bedtime. J encouraged me to go get some pampering in while he was home today so I took him up on the offer and scheduled myself a deep tissue massage. I think I found my new favorite masseuse at this spa because it was the BEST deep tissue I’ve had in years! The time went by so fast, I was sad when it ended.
After my massage, I swung by the mall real quick to pick up a birthday gift for a girlfriend from one of my favorite stores …
Madewell 🙂
J was sweet enough to take the kids out to dinner and manage the evening alone while I was out getting my spa service and shopping. I got home just in time to watch D feed the dog dinner. We’ve been having D do this as his “chore” since he was 2 and it is so sweet to see how big he’s grown. When he first started, he was so little he could only scoop out one or two kernels of food at a time but now he can easily scoop the entire cup full!
After bedtimes and tuck ins, J snuck out to our backyard to shoot some hoops. We recently bit the bullet and invested in building a basketball court out back. Our home sits on almost 2/3 of an acre and I couldn’t figure out WHAT to do with all the space. J was fiending for a half court from the moment we bought this house and after realizing that I didn’t have a better suggestion for the area, I relented and we had the court put in. I have to say, I don’t regret it at all! We’ve definitely been getting our money’s worth.
Last, I have a picture of this drawing that E drew for me today. It’s a super hero version of herself .. she told me that the little brown squares are fire chocolate 😉

First, welcome back to the blogging world. I went back and re-read all of your old posts and was again touched, amused, encouraged, sad, heart broken, inspired. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your heart. I hope more people will find this site and be blessed. And then eventually you will turn this into a book. 🙂 xoxo.
